Today I got the chance to see my dad again after over 5 years. It was really nice seeing him again. We traded stories for hours and by the end of it he told me that he’s proud of the way I’ve turned out. My dad and I were never really close. And in a way, his absence has caused me to hold on to some anger but somehow, seeing him today dissolved all the indifference I felt towards him over the years. Being with him just made me happy and thankful for everything.

I’m leaving in four days. It’s so weird. I am going to miss everyone terribly which is why I decided to start a new blog to document my trip.
I think it’s crazy how saying just one word can easily reveal a hidden part, how one touch can easily make two worlds collide, and how the right person can easily make you forget every single thing that once made your heart worry and wander.

Genuine love is rarely an emotional space where needs are instantly gratified. To know love we have to invest time and commitment… Dreaming that love will save us, solve all our problems or provide a steady state of bliss or security only keeps us stuck in wishful fantasy, undermining the real power of the love — which is to transform us.”

there is something about this. about the way the waves were crashing in towards me. and about the way I felt that day. that simply makes me adore this.
